The Live Local East Dallas campaign was started in May 2009 when a group of local business and community members gathered together to strategize how we could educate and emphasize the benefits of trying to conduct business, shop, and/or eat locally. The campaign’s focus is primarily to encourage all of East Dallas to think before conducting any sort of business outside of the East Dallas area. We hope to remind businesses and individuals alike that they have it within their power to make decisions that will keep neighbors employed, locally owned businesses open, community non-profits serving, and many of our annual local events happening.
Live Local East Dallas’s mission statement is to encourage the community to think local first while recognizing the economic, social and community benefits of doing business locally.
Live Local East Dallas is focused on:
- Reminding businesses and individuals in our community that there are enormous benefits to thinking local first when making decisions.
- Marketing the idea and phrase throughout the community in order to promote local business owners and local efforts.
Live Local East Dallas will facilitate regular educational events, maintain an online business directory of local businesses, and work to display the Live Local East Dallas logo everywhere as a constant reminder.
By joining our efforts you are pledging first and foremost to think local first whenever possible, but also to help us educate the community by displaying a sign in your yard or a decal on your storefront window. We hope to give our business members the opportunity to expand their marketing efforts with the Live Local logo and receive additional local recognition through our marketing materials.
